Do you have any gardening resolutions for 2014?
Mine are to:
grow less food (to eat as much but to waste less)
install a water feature (probably a half barrel)
stake my herbaceous plants earlier
thoroughly mulch my fruit bushes with well rotted manure
actively manage my compost bins, and
try to inspire some children and young people to get into gardening.

May the year 2014 greet you with days as fragrant as roses, as colorful as rainbow, as bright as sunshine and as happy and cheerful as a lark.
Here’s a brilliant (if labour intensive) way to recycle old plastic bottles- as roofing material!

Following the popularity of my previous collections of recycling project pics, here is another batch.
First, furniture….
Next childrens’ stuff…..
Now some other useful garden structures……
And finally a couple of mega projects to really inspire!
Most of these pictures come from the very useful site 1001 pallets, so thanks to them and their contributors!

A few more examples of creative projects for childrens’ play, shelters, planters and other projects for the garden and open spaces. Most from the site 1001 pallets.

Neat idea for growing food and other plants outside your window- especially useful for urban areas where apartments have no outside space.

A garden shed made from old doors. Why not paint it dark blue, add a blue flashing light and ‘Police’ round the top?
