What an odd story! Fewer than 100 plants (presumably, rather than individual blooms) per each of 35 NT gardens doesn’t sound like a lot to me, given the typical size of those gardens. Also, surely the number of plants will be related to the number planted in previous years as much, if not more, than the climate?

Yes, I see your points, but I think the answer is some sloppy drafting. I’m guessing that when they say ‘plants’ they mean species not individual plants (imagine trying to count snowdrops as separate plants!). This way that translates to about 100 different species per property; more reasonable I think! Hope all’s well with you 🙂
Good news. Here it was -11 degrees F and -33 wind chill this morning. There aren’t any flowers blooming here. 🙂
