I’m such a fool for those poor end of season “orphans”. On occasion they did pull through. I usually talk as I plant and tell them ” make or break, this is your last chance.
Ha, I know what you mean, and as you say some can be coaxed back into life- I have some ‘clearance’ plants I’m nursing right now- a standard lavender and an Acer; hopefully they will prove to be good buys 🙂
