What an exciting use of space. So much going on it looks like a “where’s Wally” picture.
Ha, ha, like the ‘Where’s Wally’ comment Malc. My guess is that you’d find a few more people tucked away in between containers and plants if we had a magnifying glass!
Hi Nigel, Love the relaxed randomness of the community garden with its live men. I think it’s funny that we humans like to go and be somewhere where we are actually closer to other people than we would be at home even though we don’t necessarily interact with each other. We lived on a farm but would go on holidays to stay in a caravan park with hundreds of other people … which struck me at one point as quite strange. Like going to a cafe to read the newspaper (I like doing this too.)
Hi Chas- yes – though the men look just about ‘live’! ‘Community’, in my view, is becoming ever mkore important, especially wiht an ageing population made up of more and more single people. There are some inspiring projects locally which bring older people and children together to grow food.
That’s really great to hear about. I’m doing an online course about ‘How to Save the World” at the moment (no pressure!) But it’s probably small local initiatives like this which really help share that generational knowledge a lot of us have lost in more western societies which can make a big difference.
