This looks lovely – are the wall plantings difficult to water and do they retain water well?
Hi- thanks. I’m about to experiment with a vertical planter made from pallets- you may have seen my post about ‘Pallet Power’. If made correctly, with landscape fabric underneath the bottom and back, and compost lain inside the planter from the top, introducing your plants as you go up to each row, I think the overall effect is quite abundant and you should be able to fiddle a hose pipe/watering can spout in each layer to water! it would probably help if you used water retaining gel in the compost also. Are you planning to make/get one?
Lovely textures in all those leaves.
Love the wall pockets and wall gardening that is all over these days. I plan on adding one right outside my kitchen door to grow herbs.
Hi Melanee- thanks for the comment. Good luck with your planter- did you see my post on ideas for using pallets? There are lots of vertical planting ideas there!
Reblogged this on My Botanical Garden.
Thanks for the reblog- hope you’re well!
Too much work, too little time , but spring is finally here!!!
Know what you mean- everything’s growing, inlcuding lots of weeds!
Absolutely, yet there is my day job, too-conferences, travel, writing-I love it all, but there is not enough time in 24-hours π
